Google has announced its first change to the Panda algorithm in almost 10 months; say hello to Panda 4 2.
The Panda 4.2 refresh will affect 2-3% of search queries, which is slightly lower than the previous update, Panda 4.1, which impacted 3-5% of search queries. As a result of this update, we witnessed ‘thin’ content more-readily identified and downgraded in favour of quality content.
This latest Google Panda update once again emphasises the importance of having a good content marketing strategy. As a digital agency, we understand that a well-structured content plan, with well-written content, being regularly published to a website, gives our clients a substantial SEO advantage when Google deploys any algorithm updates.
Although the Panda algorithm is still site-wide, there won’t be an immediate jump in traffic; sites will see a gradual increase in organic rankings. However, if your website doesn’t have a sufficient volume of the quality content Google now requires, then this can result in a considerable drop in search visibility, which will lead to a decline in site visits.
